Gedling Access Road
Construction of a new major access road in Nottinghamshire required the construction and stabilisation of a 400m embankment.
Soil nails were selected by the consultant Atkins as the permanent solution to stabilising the bank. Choosing to use the encapsulation of grout alone to protect the plain black steel bars from corrosion, achievable due to the unique and controlled cracking pattern offered by the TITAN hollow threaded bars. A galvanised head detail was supplied to add additional protection at the ground interface.
